Kids Racecar Rides and Camera & Autograph Night also on tap
Port Royal – Port Royal Speedway will present another Camera & Autograph Night this Saturday, June 29 at 7 pm, featuring free access to the pit area from 5 – 6 pm for general admission ticket holders.
The program will feature Kids Racecar Rides at intermission while the racing action features twin 15-lap main events for the Gray’s Auto & Towing Late Models along with full programs for the River Valley Builders 305 sprints, pro stocks and the Juniata Tire Sales Enduros.
There will be no 410 sprint racing at the track this week due to Pennsylvania Speedweek action at another area oval.
The 23rd annual Pennsylvania Speedweek series for 410 sprints will hit Port Royal Speedway next Saturday, July 6 when the sprints will compete in a 30-lap main event paying $5,000 to win.
The super late models are also on the speedweek card along with an enduro dash, getting underway at 7:30 pm.
Adult admission for Saturday’s racing program featuring the late model twin 15s is just $15 while students ages 12 – 18 will be admitted for just $5.
So far this season, tremendous late model racing action at the speedway has been a highlight of local short track action in the area.
On June 22 Tim Wilson came on late to record his second win of the season at the track after dueling with Andy Haus and later Dylan Yoder before finally getting around Terry Naugle for the victory.
So far in 2013, 11 late model programs at the track have produced eight different winners with Matt Parks the only other driver that has been able to win more than once.
Terry Naugle of Port Royal is the current late model series point leader in a quest for his first track title as well as his first ever event victory itself.
Each of the twin 15s will pay $1,000 to win.
