Port Royal – Sunday night’s Interstate Modified/Super Turbo Truck and Tractor Pull at the Juniata County Fair and Port Royal Speedway is shaping up to be an exciting event.
Confirming his entry Wednesday afternoon was modified tractor puller Dave Daku of Selinsgrove.
Daku will enter the 7,800 Modified division with his unique tractor powered by a 1930s/40s era Allison aircraft engine.
Daku’s twin-cam V12 airplane engine-equipped tractor “The Phoenix” produces approximately 2,000-horse power.
Recent Interstate pulls in the area have attracted over 50 modified tractor, turbo diesel and modified tractor-truck pullers and a similar field is expected at the Juniata County Fair program.
Pulls begin at 7 pm on Sunday. Gates will open at 5 pm.
Dotterer Equipment Company of Honey Grove, Juniata Lumber Supply of Mifflintown and Heimbach Enterprises of Selinsgrove are sponsors of the exciting fair event that will mark the first appearance of tractor pulls at the Juniata County Fair in over a decade.
Five divisions of tractors and trucks will rattle the fair and thrill fans with pulling competition including: 8,500 Mod Diesel Turbo Tractors; Pro Stock Semi Tractor Trailer Trucks; 7,800 Modified Tractors (up to 2 engines); 10,000 Pro Farm Tractors; and 8,000 Street Diesel 4×4 pickup trucks.
Admission prices for the fair and pulls on September 1 will be $4 at the outside gate and $8 at the grandstand.
Youth ages 8 – 12 will be admitted for $6 to the pulls with free outside gate admission.
There is no reserved seating for the tractor pulls. Season passes for circle-track auto racing events will not be honored for admission to the tractor pulls.
Raindate for the pulls is September 14 at 6 pm.
Don’t miss your chance to see this wildly exciting event coming to the 159th annual Juniata County Fair!
