Port Royal – This Saturday’s Three State Flyers Series Butch Renninger Memorial for super late models at Port Royal Speedway is full of extra cash and prizes to go along with the posted $14,000+ purse on the line.
The Renninger Memorial along with the 410 sprints, pro stocks and enduros will serve as the 159th annual Juniata County Fair Opener racing events at 7 pm.
The Renninger Memorial carries title sponsorship from Slivinski Law Offices of Selinsgrove along with associate sponsors Juniata Lumber Supply and Dotterer Equipment.
The 33-lap Renninger Memorial will pay $3,333 to win and $300 to start but there’s more to the program for the late model drivers.
Each lap of the main event will pay $33 to lead while heats will pay $33 to win.
A $100 Hard Charger Award has also been posted for the main.
In addition, a $33 bonus has been posted for the highest finishing Juniata County late model driver in the prestigious event.
Group time trials will set the late model starting grids.
Run in honor of late track champion Renninger, if one late model star is able to wire the Renninger Memorial feature for the prestigious victory, he or she will garner more than $4,400 for the victory.
Both the pro stocks and enduros will compete for increased purses as well.
Winners of all three stock car events will receive free subs from Rock-It Pizza along with free sandwich coupons for the top three finishers in each class from Burger King.
Mark Pettyjohn, Jason Covert and Kenny Pettyjohn currently hold the top spots in 2013 Three State Flyers Series points.
Greg Satterlee is the defending event champion.
Adult general admission for the exciting show is just $18 with students ages 12 – 18 admitted for JUST $5.
H. D. “Butch” Renninger was a three-time Port Royal Speedway late model track champion who pocketed 41 late model wins at the track during his career on the speedway.
Renninger was also a dedicated track employee, fairboard member and concessionaire at the track for some 40 years.
