Port Royal Hosts Duo Of PA Speedweek Shows This Week,

Holiday Races July 3 & 5 also offer music performances and AMA Pro Cyclists

Port Royal – Port Royal Speedway will be the place for 24th annual PA Speedweek sprint car action this holiday weekend as the historic oval hosts a pair of series dates, on July 3 and July 5, at 7:30 pm.

The Thursday July 3 date will pay the speedweek winner of the 30-lap feature a hefty $7,000 and $100 for fast time has been posted courtesy of Packers Concessions. 

Joining the Aumiller’s Insurance 410 sprints on the Thursday card will be the Gray’s Auto and Towing 355 econo late models.

Also slated for the Thursday night will be a special intermission exhibition by AMA Pro Flat Track motorcyclists.

Prior to the races AMA Pros Mikey Martin, Kenny Coolbeth Jr. and Stevie Bonsey among others will have their bikes on display behind the grandstand while signing autographs.

The speedweek series then swings right back to Port Royal on Saturday, July 5 for another round of hot speedweek action that also includes the Enviroman Products/Jake’s Carts super late models plus a feature for the Len Krautheim Auto Sales xtreme stocks to close out the night.

Saturday’s speedweek winner will garner $5,000 for a 30-lap victory and another $100 is up for grabs to the fast timer, again courtesy of Packer’s Concessions of Centre Hall.

Prior to the races on Saturday, a free performance by Last Men Standing will take place on the stage behind the grandstand.

Last Men  Standing is a local band that showcases rock music spanning from the 1950’s to now.

General admission gates for both shows open at 4 pm.

Adult general admission for Thursday is set at just $20 with students ages 12 – 18 priced at the always-low price of JUST $5.

Adult admission Saturday for the super sprint/super late model show is JUST $22 and again students are priced at JUST $5.

In a current tie with Mike Wagner for the point lead at Port Royal, Selinsgrove’s Blane Heimbach won the only speedweek date at Port Royal last season.

Heimbach won the season opener at the track this season while Wagner is still hunting for his first of the year.

In nine sprint car events to date this season at the track only Greg Hodnett has been able to repeat, having scored twice so far.

To date, seven super late model features have produced seven different winners at the track.
