Port Royal – Some 17 drivers walked off with nearly $4,000 in contingency cash at the Port Royal Speedway Living Legends Dream Race on Saturday night, August 2.
Brent Marks took the prestigious win and $620 in lap money while other laps went to Nate Snyder, $80; Aaron Ott, $20; Greg Hodnett, $320; Steve Buckwalter, $140; and Blane Heimbach, $160.
Hard Charger awards in semi mains worth $125 each went to Ryan Taylor and Ryan Wilson while Lance Dewease took the $250 award posted for the A Main.
Fast time awards of $100 each went to Lucas Wolfe and Doug Esh.
Proceeds from a silent auction behind the grandstand produced randomly fan-awarded cash prizes of more than $200 to each of six drivers that included Esh, Rodney Westhafer, Wilson, Curt Stroup, Pat Cannon and Alan Krimes.
A $200 bonus was posted to the winner of the Non Qualifiers main that went to Tyler Bear.
And a fan vote that decided a 25th starter in the event, a $350 position, went to Dylan Cisney.
Aside from all of the aforementioned cash, each of the first 40 drivers to register for the event received a $10 roll of quarters as car wash cash.
And on top of all the money itself that was given away, thousands in contingency prizes were given out in the pits from Hoosier Tires, Rider Engines, Ott Engines, DMI, Penske Shocks, Goshorn Racing Supplies, Zemco Headers, Wings Unlimited, VRP Shocks, Moose Blocks and Smith Tire.
