Tuscarora 50 Hall Of Champions Reunion Slated For 50th Annual Race Sept. 9

Port Royal – As a celebration of this year’s Port Royal Speedway 50th annual Tuscarora 50 paying $50,000 to win coming up on Saturday, September 9, a Tuscarora 50 Hall of Champions Reunion will take place.

Sprint car racing for the enormous $105,000 purse up for grabs will begin at 7 pm but an autograph session with no less than 12 champions will take place underneath the grandstand, adjacent to the main admission gate, from 4:30 to 5:30 pm.

 

The eldest statesman of the Tuscarora 50 Hall of Champions, slated to appear for the fan meet and greet is three-time Tuscarora winner Lynn Paxton, who took Tuscarora laurels in 1972, 1975 and 1980.  

 

Also appearing will be defending Tuscarora champion and the only five-time event victor in history, Lance Dewease, who took wins in 1994, 2001, 2002, 2006 and in 2016.

 

Len Krautheim III., who won the Silver Anniversary 25th Annual Tuscarora 50 in 1992 has also committed to the pre-race session.

 

Other winners scheduled to appear are Keith Kauffman, 1978 and 2003; Dave Blaney, 1983; Todd Shaffer, 1990, 1991 and 1995; Don Kreitz Jr., 1993, 1999 and 2013; Fred Rahmer, 1996, 1997, 2000 and 2005; Greg Hodnett, 1998, 2004, 2009 and 2014; Doug Esh, 2007 and 2012; Mike Erdley, 2008 and Brian Montieth, 2010.
