2018 Moon Shine Camo Series Kicks Off Saturday At Port Royal Speedway

Firm announces year-end Moon Shine prize pack valued at over $1,100

PORT ROYAL, Pa. –The kickoff of the 2018 Moon Shine Camo Rt. 35 Dirt Late Model Challenge Series between Port Royal and Selinsgrove Speedways is set for this Saturday night, April 14 at Port Royal Speedway.

A total purse worth over $12,000 will be up for grabs by all the late model stars in the region with $2,200 going to the 25-lap event winner while even 24th place pays a healthy $225.

Adult general admission for the show that includes the All Stars Keith Kauffman Classic for 410 sprint cars is set at $22 with students ages 12 – 18 admitted for $10.

All gates will open at 3 pm.

The 2018 Moon Shine Camo series is made up of six race dates with three to be held at each speedway throughout the year.

Additional Port Royal dates come up on July 7 and July 28 while at the other end of Rt. 35, Selinsgrove Speedway hosts dates on May 19, July 21 and on August 11.

The total series point fund will increase this year to as much as $4,700, pending completion of all six series races. Previous funds have topped out at $3,500.

Points will be accrued in 2018 based on not only event performance but for series attendance as well.

And in addition to the boosted 2018 series point fund payout, all drivers that enter every event held this season will be in the running to win a special Moon Shine Camo Outdoorsman prize package, valued at over $1,100.

The winner of the special prize pack will be chosen at the series champion’s respective track banquet.

In the Moon Shine theme and patterned prize pack will be a Semi-Automatic SR22 Model 3633 .22 caliber pistol, an Orca brand 40-quart cooler, a pair of Orca 32 oz. tumblers, a hardshell jacket, a stadium blanket, a long sleeve shirt, polarized sunglasses, two hats and other items.
