World Of Outlaws To Sanction 51st Annual, $51,000 To Win Port Royal Tuscarora 50

Make-up Tuscarora 50 part of two-day Oct. 26/27 WoO weekend including Nittany Showdown

PORT ROYAL, Pa. – The 51st annual Tuscarora 50 sanctioned by the World of Outlaws is set to hit Port Royal Speedway coming up Saturday evening, October 27, 2018.

After a rainout of the $51,000 to win, 51st annual event took place on September 8, speedway and World of Outlaws officials have worked together over the last 36 hours to put together a huge one-of-a-kind Port Royal program for the ages.

Friday October 26 will still feature the previously scheduled Nittany Showdown paying $8,000 to win for the World of Outlaws vs. Pennsylvania Posse event.

But then on Saturday, Packer’s Concessions and Ramsey’s Car Wash & Garage will present the 51st annual World of Outlaws Tuscarora 50, paying $51,000 to win out of a one-day sprint car purse worth over $106,000.

The Saturday Tuscarora 50 will carry a raindate of Sunday, October 28.

The Nittany Showdown, originally schedule as a two-day event this year, will now return to its previous one-day $8,000-to-win format on Friday, October 26th, followed by the $51,000-to-win special-format Tuscarora 50 on Saturday for a spectacular Port Royal Speedway Season Finale Weekend.

Raincheck wristbands and reserved seats from the rained out September 8 program will be honored for the October 27 Tuscarora 50 program sanctioned by the World of Outlaws.

The raincheck wristbands and reserved seats will be honored for the October 27 racing program ONLY.

Fans wishing to obtain reserved seats for the Friday program still need to purchase them online via www.worldofoutlaws.com/tickets .

Reserved seats for the Saturday Tuscarora 50 program, a limited number of which are still available, must be purchased via the speedway office and are expected to go on sale the week of September 17.  Orders can be placed by phone by calling 717.527.4414.

Further details about this huge Port Royal and World of Outlaws sprint car event are still being determined however speedway officials wanted to inform all fans in attendance on September 8 of the make-up plan as soon as possible.

Last Saturday, 53 cars were pitside for the Tuscarora 50 at Port Royal Speedway when rains hit just after qualifying time trials had been completed. In hopes of completing the program on Sunday, the slated rain date, speedway officials forged ahead with plans to conduct the event on September 9. However, rains overnight and through the morning on Sunday forced another cancellation.

The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series has competed at the Speed Palace for the past four consecutive years, with nine-time defending Series Champion Donny Schatz scoring the win last year, Pennsylvania native and full-time World of Outlaw Logan Schuchart scoring the dominant win in 2016, this year’s Knoxville Nationals Champion Brad Sweet taking the checkers in 2015, and Pennsylvania’s Ryan Smith scoring the upset victory in 2014.

Meanwhile, if Lance Dewease wins the Tuscarora again on October 27 in the Don Kreitz No. 69K, it will make Kreitz the winningest car owner in Tuscarora 50 history with six under his belt. He is currently in a tie with other five-time owner winners Al Hamilton and Bob Weikert. Kreitz got three as an owner/driver and currently has a pair with Dewease as driver.
