PORT ROYAL, Penn- Following over a two month hiatus due to the effects of COVID-19, Port Royal Speedway is set to return to racing action for a weekend doubleheader June 13-14.

With the recent announcement that Juniata County would be moving into the ‘Green Phase’ on June 12, the Juniata County Agricultural Society and the Port Royal Speedway Promotional team came together to bring the sounds of racing cars back to ‘The Speed Palace’ and restart the 2020 season.

Racing will kick off Saturday June 13th for a three division show featuring the Weikert’s Livestock 410 Sprint Cars, the River Valley Builders Super Late Models and the Selinsgrove Ford Limited Late Models. All three divisions will draw for heat race position and there will be a re-draw for the feature.

The Sprint Cars will be racing for $4000 to win and $400 to start, the Super Late Models will be racing for $2500 to win and $250 to start while the Limited Late Models will be racing for $1000 to win. Gates will open at 4:00pm EST and racing will begin at 7:00pm EST.

Spectators will not be required to wear masks, though they are encouraged and a limited amount will be available for purchase at the track novelty stands. All reserved seating will be honored for the event and fans are encouraged to practice social distancing guidelines throughout the night. Waivers will not be required to attend.

There will also be several hand sanitizer stations set up throughout the Speedway complex. General Admission will be $20, Student Admission is $10 while Pit Admission is $30. Fans are encouraged to stay home if they do not feel well and racing will still be available via PPV on www.speedshifttv.com

Sunday’s event will once again feature the Weikert’s Livestock 410 Sprint Cars along with the season debut of the Penns Valley Meat Market PASS/IMCA 305 Sprint Cars. The 410’s will be racing for $5000 and it will be a time trial show. We will utilize the Pennsylvania Speedweek format in preparation for the two race in the beginning of July.
