Port Royal – Of all the big winners at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday night including Mike Erdley and Doug Esh in 410 sprints and Coleby Frye and Mike Lupfer in late models, nobody took more money home from the track than the winner of the 50/50 from Middletown, Pennsylvania, who pocketed over $5,600 as his take.
Including the grandstands and infield areas, a near capacity crowd of thousands crowded into the speedway on Free Fan Appreciation Night, backing up traffic along access routes into the borough of Port Royal upon their arrival to watch seven exciting features that also saw Mark Watkins and Eric Parker split 305 sprint features and Bill Powell claim xtreme stocks. Port Royal – Port Royal Speedway will present a five-division Interstate Truck and Tractor Pullers Association event coming up on Saturday, June 28 at 7 pm.

Port Royal –Brady Bacon of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, took the $6,000 USAC Eastern Storm sprint car feature event at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday night, putting on an exciting show for the fans for his first ever oval victory.
For Bacon, aboard the Hoffman Racing No. 69, the victory helped widen his advantage in the Eastern Storm series that concludes on Sunday night. Read more »

2014 Founders Awards going to Kimberling and Bryner
Port Royal – Port Royal Speedway will present the wingless USAC 410 sprint cars this Saturday night, June 7 at 7 pm along with the wingless ARDC Midgets and the Gray’s Auto & Towing 355 econo late models.
Aside from the 30-lap, $6,000 to win USAC Eastern Storm feature event, the night will center around the annual EMMR/Penn Central Racing Reunion event that will find speedway grounds hosting dozens and dozens of restored EMMR and Penn Central race cars. Read more »
Port Royal – Greg Hodnett of Thomasville wired the field for the 25-lap 410 sprint car feature at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday night while the stock cars staged exciting racing in the 355 econo late model, xtreme stock and all american outlaw divisions.
Andrew Yoder of Middleburg overcame from the ninth starting spot to continue his strangle hold on the econo late model division, now having scored all three of the mains contested for the class to date. Read more »
When the 2014 edition of the Harbaugh Amusement Appalachian Mountain Speedweek roles into Port Royal Speedway for the series finale this coming Monday it will have special meaning. As in years past, the series last race has been in memory of one of Central Pennsylvania’s late model legends. This year the venue might be different but the legend lives on with the 7th running of the Chargin’ Charlie Grinestaff Memorial.
Charlie Grinestaff took to the area speedways in the 1950’s driving a flathead jalopy. That time period in racing was truly for the brave as there were no safety regulations or protective clothing. Charlie barnstormed through the Mid-Atlantic and it did not take long for his name to be known simultaneously with Victory lane. In fact, in his career, Charlie visited victory lane 44 times throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia. One of his biggest wins came in the annual 100 lapper at Saluda, Virginia. Read more »

Port Royal – A virtually unheard of 7 Feature Free Admission Fan Appreciation Night at Port Royal Speedway has been announced for Saturday, June 14 at 7 pm.
The bold promotion will find the general public receive TOTALLY FREE GENERAL ADMISSION for a total of seven feature races to be contested on the night.
On tap will be the final 16 laps of the May 24 Fallen Heroes Championship for 410 sprints that was postponed mid race by rain while Mike Erdley was leading. Read more »

USAC Eastern Storm, Penn Central/EMMR Racing Reunion Night June 7
Port Royal – The Appalachian Mountain Dirt Late Model Speedweek Series will conclude next Monday, June 2 at 7 pm at Port Royal Speedway with the running of the Charlie Grinestaff Memorial for super late models.
The Grinestaff Memorial will pay $4,000 to win and $400 to start the 40-lap main event. Time trials will set the starting grids for the night. Read more »
