Port Royal Cancels March 11, Spins Off Successful Practice Session Thursday

PORT ROYAL, Pa. – Some 30 race cars gathered at Port Royal Speedway on Thursday night, March 9 to take part in a three hour practice session from 6 – 9 pm.

Divisions represented included 410 sprints, 305 sprints, super late models, econo late models, xtreme stocks and four cylinder pure stocks.

Despite a successful practice event on Thursday night, Port Royal officials have been forced to announce the cancellation of the scheduled season opener coming up in two days, on Saturday, March 11. Read more »

Port Royal And Speed Shift TV To Broadcast Eight Events In 2017

PORT ROYAL, Pa. – Port Royal Speedway has partnered with Speed Shift TV to broadcast eight premier events via pay per view during the upcoming 2017 racing season, beginning in April.

Speed Shift TV broadcasts more than 120 nights of racing a year to a global online audience.

The first Port Royal broadcast is slated to take place on Saturday, April 29 when the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions Sprints invade for the second running of the Keith Kauffman Classic. Read more »

PORT ROYAL, Pa. – Port Royal Speedway is prepped and ready to begin the 2017 racing season with a pair of upcoming practice sessions on March 4 and 9 before the Season Opener is staged on Saturday, March 11 at 5 pm.

Deadline For Port Royal Seat Renewal Is Feb. 1, Season Passes On Sale

PORT ROYAL, Pa. – With the new 2017 racing season fast approaching, Port Royal Speedway fans are reminded that February 1 is the deadline for renewing season seats.

Any current seat holders who have not renewed their seats from the 2016 season by February 1, 2017, will find them put up for sale beginning late this week.

Esh, Haus, Hart, Leister and Gramley Honored At Port Royal Banquet Saturday

PORT ROYAL, Pa. – Over 300 people gathered on Saturday night at the Port Royal Community Building in Port Royal to honor the 2016 speedway track champions.

Taking top honors were Doug Esh, Weikert’s Livestock 410 sprints; Andy Haus, Aumiller’s Insurance super late models; Devin Hart, Gray’s Auto & Towing 355 econo late models; Pete Leister, Len Krautheim Auto Sales xtreme stocks; and Nate Gramley, River Valley Builders 305 sprints.

All five champions will receive beautiful championship rings as provided and sponsored by Foss Jewelers of Lewistown. In addition, all champions received fuel certificates from Insinger Fuels. Read more »

Port Royal Banquet Tickets Remain On Sale For Nov. 19 Awards

PORT ROYAL, Pa. – Tickets for the upcoming Port Royal Speedway awards banquet coming up on Saturday, November 19 continue to be on sale at a price of $30 each.

Beginning at 5 pm, the banquet will honor all 2016 track champions with an awards dinner held just off of the speedway backstretch, at the Port Royal Community Building located along Fourth St.

Port Royal Speedway, URC & PASS Cancel Oct. 22 Open Wheel Madness

Port Royal Speedway has canceled its October 22 Open Wheel Madness racing program due to inclement weather for late season racing. With a forecast for lingering rains early on Saturday giving way to an intense, biting wind and temperatures expected to top out around 50, the reluctant decision to cancel was made late Friday afternoon.

Port Royal Speedway officials consulted with the National Weather Service in State College late on Friday afternoon and after receiving information that winds are predicted to be sustained at 20 mph, gusting to as high as 30 and 40 mph, and not expected to subside into Saturday evening, officials with URC and the PASS along with oval officials decided the best decision was to call off the event. PORT ROYAL, Pa. – Port Royal Speedway will close its season this Saturday, October 22 at 3 pm when it hosts Open Wheel Madness, featuring 410, URC 360 and 305 sprint cars.

The 410 sprints will compete in a 30-lap main paying $5,000 to win and $400 to start while the URC Sprints race for $2,200 to win and the RaceSaver 305 sprints vie for $1,500 to win in the rescheduled Keystone RaceSaver Challenge. Read more »
