Layton, West, Parker Port Royal Open Wheel Madness Winners

Port Royal – Some 78 sprint cars filled the Port Royal Speedway pits on Saturday night for Open Wheel Madness where Chad Layton, Randy West and Eric Parker came away winners of the 410 sprint, URC sprint and 305 sprint features, respectively.

Layton started on the pole of the 25-lap 410 sprint main and after a few attempts at getting the first lap recorded he led the field back to the stripe.

One of the initial restarts came after Dustin Baney flipped wildly out over the third turn guardrail, escaping injury.  Read more »

Cast Of Kauffman Players Unveil Port Royal “Keith Kauffman Family Section” Dedication

Port Royal – A crowd of thousands came together to honor retiring sprint car veteran Keith Kauffman on Saturday night Augst 17 at Port Royal Speedway during his farewell tribute race.

Having announced this season as his farewell tour, prior to the race Kauffman and Kenny Jacobs, who came to the event to help celebrate with his friend, met hundreds of fans for autographs behind the grandstand.

And then during intermission a stage full of the names and players from Kauffman’s past and present gathered to conduct a “This Is Your Life” type of presentation. Read more »

Competing in the open wheel triple header will be the Aumiller’s Insurance 410 sprints, the URC Sprints and the River Valley Builders PASS 305 sprint cars.

Ohio veteran will meet and greet fans with friend Keith Kauffman before the show

Port Royal – A pair of good old sprint car friends, Keith Kauffman of Mifflintown and Kenny Jacobs of Holmesville, OH., will come together at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday night for the oval’s Keith Kauffman Farewell Tribute Night.

Kauffman and Jacobs will meet and greet fans and sign autographs behind the grandstand on Saturday night from approximately 5:15 – 5:45 pm.

The duo became good and close friends over the last 25 years dating back to the 1980s when Jacobs first came to the area to pilot the potent Weikert’s Livestock No. 29 sprint car and over the years the pair went on to compete together on the road at various times while racing with both the World of Outlaws and All Star Circuit of Champions Sprints.
