Port Royal Cancels March 20/21 Weekend

Port Royal – Port Royal Speedway has been forced to cancel its already pushed back season opening weekend slated for March 20 and 21.

Continued rock-hard frozen ground and extremely poor grounds and track surface conditions have made the cancellation of the Friday practice session and Saturday opener a necessity.

“It’s clear as we are now a week away from what we had hoped to be the opener that there is just no way we can even think about using the grounds or track in a week,” Port Royal Promoter Steve O’Neal said. Read more »

Port Royal Openers Moved To March 20 & 21, Continued Winter Weather Forces Early Cancellation

Port Royal – The continuation of late winter weather has forced Port Royal Speedway to cancel all planned racing activity at the oval until Friday, March 20 and Saturday, March 21.  Falling by the wayside are March 7 and 13 practice sessions and the original Opening Day program that was to be March 14.

Port Royal Welcomes Back Gray’s, River Valley Builders & Krautheim Auto Sales As 2015 Division Sponsors

Port Royal – Port Royal Speedway welcomes back a trio of supporting sponsors in 2015, firms that stand behind the strong and revived racing competition that Port Royal offers each and every week.

Gray’s Auto & Towing and Gray’s Licensing of Mifflintown will return as headline sponsors of the 355 econo late model division at the track while River Valley Builders and Len Krautheim Auto Sales also stay on board.

The Gray’s 355-econo late model class is slated to be in action some 14 times during the year ahead as it stages competition for a second year after breaking onto the scene in 2014. Read more »

Bernheisel Race Components Becomes Official Late Model Port Product Sponsor

Port Royal – Bernheisel Race Components of Jonestown has announced its official product title sponsorship of the late model competition at Port Royal Speedway for the 2015 racing season.

Led by veteran late model racer and industry leader Jim Bernheisel, BRC will provide official product sponsorship for both the super late and econo late model classes at the track.

Port Royal Is The Place For Sprints And Lates In 2015!

Schedule starts March 14, ends with three-week October run featuring sprints!

Port Royal – Port Royal Speedway is the place to be for sprint car and late model racing during the upcoming 2015 racing season, set to kick off in March before ending with a three-week run on October 10, 17 and 24.

The just released 2015 slate of events features nearly 40 total sprint car events including competition for 410 sprints, 305 sprints, URC sprints and the super sportsman. Read more »

Port Royal Demo Derby Returning, Deadline For Seats Approaching

Port Royal – Back by popular demand for the 2015 racing season at Port Royal Speedway will be the Labor Day Night Demolition Derby as part of the Juniata County Fair.

After a Labor Day afternoon racing event including 410 sprints along with other divisions at 1 pm on September 7 that boasts Free Admission To The Fair and JUST $10 race admission, the oval frontstretch will be transformed for a demo derby.

The derby, separate from the afternoon racing program, is slated for 6 pm. Read more »

Port Royal – While finishing touches continue on the 2015 Port Royal Speedway slate of events, the season opener is set for Saturday, March 14 at 6 pm, featuring the 410 sprints and super late models.

The sprint cars will compete for $3,500 to win in the opener while the super lates race for $2,000 to win.

Some 30 total race dates and a pair of Interstate Truck and Tractor Pullers-sanctioned pulling events are already on the agenda with yet a few more dates in negotiation. Read more »

Super Late Models Making Noise On 2015 Port Royal Schedule – Season Seats And Passes Remain On Sale

Port Royal – The 2015 Port Royal Speedway slate of events is beginning to take shape with opening day slated for Saturday, March 14 at 6 pm, featuring the 410 sprints and super late models.

In all, just shy of 30 total race dates and a pair of Interstate Truck and Tractor Pullers-sanctioned pulling events are in the offing with still a few dates and divisions to be determined.

Port Royal Bestows Honors At Annual Banquet, World Of Outlaws Return In 2015

Port Royal – The annual Port Royal Speedway awards banquet was held Saturday night, November 22 at the Port Royal Community Building.

Feted were the track champions in all regular divisions: Aumiller’s Insurance 410 sprints, Jake’s Carts/Enviroman Products late models, Gray’s Auto and Towing econo late models, Len Krautheim Auto Sales xtreme stocks and River Valley Builders 305 sprints.

While opening the awards portion of the banquet, speedway promoter Steve Oneal announced that the STP World of Outlaws sprint cars will return to the Juniata County Oval again in 2015. Read more »

Nov. 22 Port Royal Banquet Tickets On Sale, Staple Divisions To Return In 2015  

Port Royal – The annual Port Royal Speedway awards banquet is coming up Saturday, November 22 at 5 PM at the Port Royal Community Building, located just off of the speedway’s backstretch on Fourth Street.

Tickets for the awards ceremony and banquet are on sale at a price of $30 each and can be purchased by calling event coordinator Joanne Heckert at 717.527.4677.
