Bug Days Set, Student Admissions Locked at $10.00, Fourth Turn Grandstand All Pits

Port Royal – Port Royal Speedway is set for a Bug Day practice session on Saturday, March 12 from 1 – 4 PM. Gates for the Bug Day program will open at 11 AM with free general admission to the public. Pit passes will cost $15.00.

The speedway will return Wednesday night, March 16 with an evening practice session from 6 – 9 PM with gates opening at 5.

And then just three days later the green flag is set to fall on the 2011 season opener at the historic oval. On tap at 6 PM will be an open wheel doubleheader featuring the 410 and 358 sprint cars. Warm ups will begin at 5:30.

It will be just the first weekend of racing in the midstate for the popular 358 sprints and a fine field is likely as the track opens up for high-flying sprint car action.

Adult general admission for the season opener is set at $15.00 while students ages 12 – 17 will be admitted for just $10.00

In fact, Port Royal Speedway and PRS Promotions has locked in the student price of $10.00 for the entire season at hand. No matter what the event all season long, students will be admitted for an even $10.00, provided a student ID is produced.

Admission prices for all racing events through May have been posted on the speedway’s website.

The speedway has also made a change to fourth turn seating for 2011.

The entire turn four grandstand has been dedicated as pit seating for the season ahead. This accommodation will help alleviate unnecessary foot traffic across the speedway during the course of racing programs thus increasing safety for all involved.

There will be no change to fourth turn bleacher seating, which will remain open for general admission patrons.
