$24,000 At Stake In Dream Race Challenge August 6

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – 7/24/11

Port Royal – Double the Dream, that’s what’s now at stake for one lucky driver at the upcoming “Living Legends” Dream Race 5 at Port Royal Speedway on August 6.

An extra $12,000 has been posted for the Lelands.com Dream Race Challenge in memory of Marion Ritzman.

The 40-lap event already offers a hefty $12,000 to win but the polesitter of the Dream can double his money and take home a cool $24,000 for the win IF he opts to give up his pole position and make a run to the front from the 24th starting spot in the 20-mile feature.

And if the polesitter doesn’t like his chances but the second starter does, then he’ll get the chance at the $24,000 top prize instead.

PRS Promotions officials announced the huge incentive package for the Dream Race along with Lelands.com officials and speedway benefactor Terry Ritzman on Saturday.

Lelands.com of Bohemia, New York, is the largest and most respected Sports Auction House in the world.  Founded more than 25-years ago, Lelands has sold over $40 million worth of vintage sports memorabilia and cards in just the last five years.

The one-day Port Royal purse of now over $60,000 ranks as one of the highest in the history of Port Royal Speedway.  Even 24th finishing position will pay $500 with $1,000 posted as far back as 15th in the order.

A full B Main purse is also on the line for the prestigious event.

Heats will pay $300 to win along with the dash, which will determine the front starting positions for the Dream Race and the challenge.  Fast time is now up to being worth at least $900.
