Camera And Autograph Night, Late Model Championship July 30

Port Royal – After a week off for Summer Break on July 23, Port Royal Speedway will return to action on Saturday, July 30, with a Camera and Autograph Night highlighted by a championship event for the AB Auto Glass late models.  Also in action will be Aumillers Insurance 410 sprints, Millers Auto Parts pro stocks and an enduro dash.

General admission gates will open at 5:30 PM on July 30 with pit gates open to general admission fans from 5:45 until 6:30 PM for an up close and personal look at pit action as well as a chance to meet drivers and teams and get autographs and photos.

The special July 30 late model championship will go 25-laps in distance and offer $1,500 to win along with an increased purse.  Heats will be lined up by draw with the top three finishers in each heat redrawing to start the main event.

Late model winners to date this season have been: Gary Beward, 3; Matt Parks, 2; Mitch Hack, Scott Haus, Andy Haus, Waylon Wagner and Tim Wilson, 1 each.  Scott Haus currently leads the AB Auto Glass late model point standings.

The speedway will return one week later, August 6, with the “Living Legends” Dream Race 5, honoring Port Royal legends, driver Keith Kauffman and car owner Walt Dyer.

The race will pay at least $12,000 to win for the 40-lap affair that will see time trials, heats and a dash determine starting lineups.  The purse will offer $1,000 for 15th finishing position and $500 for 24th.  A full B Main payout is also being posted.

The race carries a one-night, $50,000 payout in total, which makes it the largest non-sanctioned, one-day sprint car event in the Keystone State again in 2011.

Heats will pay $300 to win as well as the dash with a minimum of $700 going to the night’s fast timer.  Numerous other contingencies will be offered throughout the night.
