Country Inn and Suites Announces Late Model and Pro Stock Awards at Port Royal

Port Royal – When the super late models take to the track for the first time this season at Port Royal Fairgrounds Speedway on Saturday night, a season-long process will begin that will end with cold, hard cash.

Competition for The Country Inn and Suites of State College Hard Charger Award will start with the waving of the first late model green of the season at the track.

Because at the end of the year, the one driver who has attended every race that is run but who finishes lowest in season points, will be awarded $350 courtesy of Country Inn and Suites.

Another similar award based on the same criteria, worth $150, will also be awarded for one driver in the pro stock division as well.

“It takes a lot of dedication to come to the races and compete every week,” said Karen Mansfield of Country Inn and Suites of State College upon announcing the award.

“I’m sure someone that finishes well back in the points would really appreciate the money at the end of the year,” she says.

“They work just as hard at racing as the guys who run up front every week.”

The powerful AB Auto Glass super late models will appear for the first time this season on Saturday when they team up with the Aumiller’s Insurance 410 sprints for a dual card racing program at 6 pm.

Gates for the action will open at 4 pm with Adult General Admission posted at $15.00 and students ages 12 – 18 admitted for just $5.00.
