Port Royal Fallen Heroes Championships Set For May 24, Triple 25s Slated!

Big $ For 410 Sprints, Late Models & 305 Sprints and Big Fan Prizes Plus Fireworks!

Port Royal – After a week off on May 17, Port Royal Speedway returns over the Memorial Day holiday weekend with a huge night of racing on Saturday, May 24 as the Fallen Heroes Championships Triple 25s are staged.

Sponsored by Pepsi Cola Bottling Group and Packer’s Concessions, the championship races will pay $5,000 to win for the Aumiller’s Insurance 410 sprints and $2,000 to win for the Jake’s Carts super late models while both divisions compete for increased purses throughout.

The River Valley Builders 305 sprints will also compete for an increased winner’s share in the third of the 25-lap mains slated for the night.

The first 200 fans entering the stands will receive either a free Pepsi shirt or hat while over 40 12-packs of Pepsi products will be given away as well during the night.

In addition, free tickets to see the Harrisburg Senators or to visit Hershey Park and Knoebels Grove Amusement resort will be up for grabs as well.

Sponsored by Packers Concessions, Hoseheads.com, Crankwerkz and Mr. Terry Ritzman, a fireworks display will be shot during intermission to help celebrate the official start of the summer racing season.

Group qualifying time trials will be used to set the heat grids for the 410 sprints and super late models.

The Fallen Heroes triple 25s are meant to honor the five racers in Port Royal history that paid the ultimate sacrifice while competing at the track: Frank Bailey, 1947; Harold Swarmer, 1958; Hal Hoose, 1958; Dennis Snyder, 1972; and Randy Thompson, 1973.

In last year’s championships, Danny “The Dude” Lasoski of Dover, Missouri, scored the big payday in the 410 sprint feature while driving the Zemco No. 1 machine.

Dover’s Coleby Fry took the super late model feature while Logan Wagner took the 305 sprint championship.

General admission gates will open at 4 pm for the big holiday show with racing getting underway at 7 pm.

Adult general admission for the holiday highlight of racing action will be just $20 with students ages 12 – 18 priced at JUST $5.

On May 31 Port Royal returns with a blockbuster racing program featuring double 410 sprint features including a make up main held over from May 3.

Also on the program will be the Gray’s Auto & Towing 355 econo late models, the Len Krautheim Auto Sales Xtreme Stocks and the All American Outlaws.

May 31 will also be Salute To The Military Night sponsored by Slivinski Law Offices of Selinsgrove.  Free general admission will be afforded to past or present members of the military who present adequate ID.
