Port Royal Gives Racers Big Money, Big Prizes To Fans At Holiday Show May 24

Fallen Heroes Championships Triple 25s Include Pepsi Night Prizes & Fireworks!

Port Royal – Port Royal Speedway will present the Fallen Heroes Championships triple 25-lap features for Aumiller’s Insurance 410 sprints, Jake’s Carts super late models and River Valley Builders 305 sprints this Saturday, May 24 at 7 pm.

Sponsored by Pepsi Cola Bottling Group and Packer’s Concessions, the championship races will pay $5,000 to win and $350 to start for 410 sprints, $2,000 to win and $200 to start for the super late models and the 305 sprints will race for an increased purse as well. 

Heat race group qualifying time trials will be used to set the heat grids for the 410 sprints and super late models.

The first 200 fans entering the stands will receive either a free Pepsi shirt or hat while over 40 12-packs of Pepsi products will be given away during the night to general admission ticket holders.

In addition, free tickets to see the Harrisburg Senators or to visit Hershey Park and Knoebels Grove Amusement resort will be up for grabs as well.

Sponsored by Packers Concessions, Hoseheads.com, Crankwerkz and Mr. Terry Ritzman, a fireworks display will be launched during intermission to help celebrate the official start of the summer racing season.

The Fallen Heroes triple 25s are meant to honor the five racers in Port Royal history that paid the ultimate sacrifice while competing at the track: Frank Bailey, 1947; Harold Swarmer, 1958; Hal Hoose, 1958; Dennis Snyder, 1972; and Randy Thompson, 1973.

In last year’s championships, Danny “The Dude” Lasoski of Dover, Missouri, scored the big payday in the 410 sprint feature while Dover’s Coleby Fry took the super late model feature and Logan Wagner took the 305 sprint championship.

General admission gates will open at 4 pm for the big holiday show with racing getting underway at 7 pm.

Adult general admission for the holiday highlight of racing action will be just $20 with students ages 12 – 18 priced at JUST $5.

On May 31 Port Royal returns with a blockbuster racing program on Slivinski Law Offices Salute To The Military Night featuring double 410 sprint features including a make up main held over from May 3.

Free general admission will be afforded to past or present members of the military who present adequate ID.  Military members are invited to attend in uniform.

Also on the program will be the Gray’s Auto & Towing 355 econo late models, the Len Krautheim Auto Sales Xtreme Stocks and the All American Outlaws.

The speedway then comes right back just two nights later with the finale of the Appalachian Mountain Dirt Late Model Speedweek Series when the Charlie Grinestaff Memorial is staged on Monday June 2 at 7 pm.

The speedweek series champion will be crowned with the conclusion of the 40 lap, $4,000 to win, $400 to start feature event.  The Charlie Grinestaff Memorial is sponsored by Advanced Realty of Mountville and Nikolaus & Hohenadel LLP., of Columbia.
