Port Royal Banquet Tickets On Sale October 6, Event Slated Nov. 22

Port Royal – As Port Royal Speedway prepares for its final shows of the season slated for October 10, 11 and 25, the 2014 awards banquet and presentations slated for Saturday, November 22 at the Port Royal Community Building is looming.

Tickets for the awards ceremony and banquet go on sale October 6 at a price of $30 each.

Tickets can be purchased beginning October 6 by calling event coordinator Joanne Heckert at 717.527.4677.

Tickets will also be available at the speedway office on the remaining 2014 race dates coming up in October.

Honored at the annual awards presentations will be the 2014 track champions: Rick Lafferty, 410 sprints; Mike Lupfer, late models; Tim Krape, 355 econo late models; and Bill Powell, xtreme stocks.

The 305 sprint title laurels will also be handed out at the event, pending the outcome of the October 10 and 11 305 sprint Blue Collar Classic at the oval.

All speedway champions will receive beautiful championship rings courtesy of Foss Jewelers of Mifflintown and Lewistown.

Nearly 50 teams and drivers have already pre-registered for the upcoming two-day Keystone RaceSaver 305 sprint Blue Collar Classic weekend on October 10 and 11.

Friday’s show has the limited late models sharing the 305 sprint card while the Saturday program features the 410 sprints and xtreme stocks along with the headline RaceSaver 305s.

The interregional RaceSaver 305 sprint event at Port Royal will see the 305 sprints compete in a regular program on Friday night before the big show unfolds on Saturday with group time trials for the 305 sprints, a 25 lap feature paying $1,000 to win and $400 to start, a non-qualifiers main event and a total purse on the night worth some $10,000.

Friday action begins at 7 pm with Saturday racing slated for 5 pm.

Port Royal Speedway will close the season on October 25 at 5 pm with the final show of the season featuring the  STP World of Outlaws sprint cars.
