Port Royal Hosts Salute To The Military Night Aug. 1, Military Members get FREE gen. admission for 410 sprints, super lates, 305 sprints and xtremes, Super Late BRC Manufacturer’s Night On Tap

Port Royal – Port Royal Speedway will host Slivinski Law Offices Salute To The Military Night this Saturday, August 1 at 7 pm, offering free general admission to past or present members of the military, with ID.

Past or present military members will need to present either a military form DD214 or a Veterans Administration card in order to take advantage of the free general admission offer.

On the racing agenda will be the Weikert’s Livestock 410 sprints, the super late models, the River Valley Builders 305 sprints and a championship race for the Len Krautheim Auto Sales xtreme stocks.

The super late models will race in a 25-lap, double point feature as part of Bernheisel Race Components Manufacturers Night at the track.

Each of the super late teams in attendance will receive a portion of nearly $10,000 in free racing components and gift certificates, courtesy of BRC.

For the 410 sprint car teams, the August 1 race will be the final chance to tune up before the big Living Legends Dream Race coming up on August 8.

The Living Legends race will honor the careers of veteran late model pilot Scott Haus and late model car owner Ed Powell.

The total night including a special event for the super late models boasts a whopping total of purse, contingency cash and prize value nearing $80,000.

Prior to the event, Haus and Powell and a host of former Powell late model drivers will greet fans while live, on-air radio broadcasts take place on WJUN 92.5 FM.

Free ice cream courtesy of the Juniata Dairy Council and vouchers for deli sandwiches from Mexico Market will be given away on a first come, first serve basis.

Gates will open at 4 pm.
