Wolfe and Zemaitis’ to be feted

PORT ROYAL, Pa. – Port Royal Speedway has announced its 2016 Living Legend Honorees slated to be feted at the upcoming Living Legends Dream Race coming up on Saturday, August 6.

Taking the honors this season will be one-time track champion Randy Wolfe, who recorded his only Port Royal crown in 1982.

Along the way the Mechanisburg driver put together a total of 17 sprint car wins at the historic oval, currently ranking him 16th on the oval all time win list, tied with Fred Rahmer and Elmer Ruby.

Joining Wolfe as a Living Legend this year will be decades-long car owner John and Pee Wee Zemaitis of Tower City.

The Zemaitis’, owners of the famed Zemco No. 1 sprint car, recorded their most recent track title in 2015 with Lucas Wolfe at the wheel.

Mark Smith also took a crown for the couple back in 2005.

The 2016 Living Legends Dream Race for 410 sprints will again be a huge event offering a total one-night sprint car purse of over $55,000.

The A Main will again be 35-laps in distance with twin 16-lap semi mains setting the A Main field.  Both semi mains will again carry full payoffs worth nearly $10,000 each.

The super late models will also be on the Dream Race program.

More details about this big Port Royal event are in the offing.
