Whelen/Glick Juniata Co. EMS Event Has Late Model Tri Star Sizzler Sat. At Port Royal

Super late models race in 30-lap, $12,000 total purse event plus 410 and 305 sprints!

Dozens of fire and rescue apparatus on display with fire truck rides and parade too!

PORT ROYAL, Pa. – Port Royal Speedway will present Whelen Engineering/Glick Fire Equipment Juniata County Fire & Rescue EMS Night this Saturday, July 16 at 7:30 pm featuring The Tri Star Sizzler for super late models paying $3,000 to win the 30-lap feature.

Also on the racing card will be the 410 sprints and the 305 sprint cars including a make-up 305 sprint feature held over from May.

The Tri Star Sizzler is promising to be a huge event for the super late models with a total purse of over $12,000 on the line including $3,000 to win, $1,500 for second, $1,000 for third, $350 for 10th and $215 just to start.

Passing points will be used in the late model heat races to set the feature lineup with Delaware-style restarts used throughout the event.

Fire and rescue equipment and apparatuses from across Juniata County will be on display prior to and during the racing event with a parade around the speedway, taking place during intermission.

Kids fire ruck rides around the fairgrounds will take place beginning at 5:30 pm.

Glick Fire Equipment of Bird In Hand will bring in over a half-dozen pieces of new, state of the art fire fighting equipment for display at the race as part of a Glick Fire Equipment road show.

Glick Fire Equipment is one of the areas leading fire and rescue equipment suppliers and dealers, specializing in Pierce brand fire engines.

Whelen Engineering is a “Manufactured in the USA company” employing 1,300-plus people.

Whelen has been manufacturing Emergency lights and Sirens supporting all public safety services since 1953, represented locally by Kevin Walker since 1997.

The 305 sprints will compete in a full racing program plus another full feature event that was postponed by rain in May.

The 410 sprints will also compete in a full racing program including heats and a 25-lap main event.

Gates open at 5:30 pm with racing slated for 7:30 pm.

Adult general admission is $17 with students ages 12 – 18 priced at just $7.
