Jeff Rine Scores Inaugural Moon Shine Camo Rt. 35 Dirt Late Model Challenge Series Title

PORT ROYAL, Pa. – Port Royal Speedway was the setting for the crowning of the inaugural Moon Shine Camo Rt. 35 Dirt Late Model Challenge Series titlist on Friday night, September 9.

The groundbreaking series was comprised of six scheduled races between both Port Royal and Selinsgrove Speedways with each oval hosting three events.

Selinsgrove Speedway regular and track champion Jeff Rine was crowned the series champion on Friday at Port Royal after taking a pair of wins in the five races that were able to be completed.

Single wins went to Hayes Mattern and Jeremy Miller, both at Port Royal and to Coleby Frye at Selinsgrove, while Rine scored a victory at both tracks.

A total of $3,500 was split between the top five finishers in the Moon Shine Camo Series points while a free Hoosier Tire was awarded to finishers sixth through 10th in the standings.

Rine ended the series with a total of 236 markers as a Selinsgrove regular followed by Andy Haus with 219 and Mike Lupfer with 212, both drivers a regular at Port Royal.

Mattern ended fourth in points with 204 points as a Selinsgrove driver with Port Royal driver Andrew Yoder fifth with 184 markers.

Sixth through 10th in points went to: Chad Hollenbeck, 173 points; Danny Snyder, 170 points; Dave Brouse Jr., 158 points; and Tim Wilson, 146 points.

Both Port Royal and Selinsgrove Speedway officials ended the series happy with results for the maiden attempt at the endeavor as was series sponsor Moon Shine Camo.
