Plans And Prizes For Port Royal July 28 Dream Race Announced

Fans can meet Greg Hodnett and car owners before prestigious event

PORT ROYAL, Pa. – The next race at Port Royal Speedway is set for Saturday, July 28 at 7 pm when the Living Legends Dream Race is staged, honoring Greg Hodnett.

The pre race activities will include a meet and greet autograph session with Hodnett and several of his car owners including current owner Mike Heffner along with Al Hamilton, John Trone, Jim and Sandy Kline and Bob Stewart.

The meet and greet session is slated for approximately 445 – 545, behind the grandstand.

Tentative plans also inclue having Hodnett’s No. 27 mount on display along with a Trone Special No. 39.

Hodnett will be feted on the stage following qualifying time trials for the big event.

On the line will be a total sprint car purse worth over $55,000 with more than $30,000 alone posted for the 35-lap Dream main event.

Twin 16-lap semi mains carrying full purses will set the A main starting grid.

Nearly $3,000 in contingency cash will also be given away during the entire on-track event while a host of contingency prizes valued at another few thousand dollars will be distributed to racers simply for attending the event.

Cash prizes include hard charger awards, fast time awards and a minimum of three bonus finishing position in the A main worth $200 each.

Products and gift certificates will come from Hoosier Tire, Don Ott Racing Engines, Rider Racing Engines, DMI, Zemco Speed Equipment, Hank’s Performance Products, Mach 1 Chassis, Penske Shocks and Kreitz Oval Track Parts.
