PA Speedweek Makes it Way to Port Royal Speedway Wednesday

PORT ROYAL, Pa- Port Royal Speedway returns Wednesday July 3 with their first of two PA Speedweek dates. The Weikert’s Livestock 410 Sprint Cars will be vying for the $7,000 winner’s share along with the United Racing Club 360 Sprint Cars racing for $2000.

Area Auto Racing News will be on hand signing fans up for subscriptions along with several drawing for free t-shirts and a free 50-week subscription.

A stout field of 410 Sprint Cars are expected as several invaders have entered the mid-state in search of victory during the 9-day Central PA Speedweek trail.

The 2019 Pennsylvania Speedweek kicked off June 28th and a total point fund of $16,700 is on the line dependent on all 9 races being completed.

The yearly series, a Central PA staple since 1991, visits Williams Grove Speedway twice, Lincoln Speedway twice, Port Royal Speedway twice, along with solo stops at Selinsgrove Speedway, Grandview Speedway and Hagerstown Speedway.

Greg Hodnett, who passed away following a racing accident last season, is the reigning 2018 Speedweek champion. Retired driver Fred Rahmer captured to point tile a record 13 times, Hodnett 5 times, Lance Dewease 3-times, Lucas Wolfe 3-times along with single triumphs for Keith Kauffman, Steve Smith, Stevie Smith and Danny Dietrich.

Entering Grandview Speedway on Wednesday, four different drivers have claimed victories in the 4 races. Freddie Rahmer currently leads the standings by a mere 14 markers over TJ Stutts and 59 points over third place, Wolfe.

Last year Wolfe and Dietrich picked up victories and they will both be looking to repeat this season. Neither driver has won at any of the series first 4 stops.

Racing activities will kick off at 7pm with gates opening at 4pm. General Adamission is $20, Students $10 and Pit Admission is $35.
