Port Royal Speedway, the Juniata County Agricultural Society, and the Port Royal Speedway Promotional team would like to send our condolences to the family of Don Clark.

After a long, courageous battle with cancer, Clark passed away Sunday morning December 29th at the age of 73.

President of the Juniata Country Agricultural Society for the past 10 years, Clark was a devoted family man and an avid supporter of the Port Royal Speedway and the Juniata County Fair.

He was a second generation President of the JCAS, as his late father Gerald devoted 30 years toward the society

Even as he battled illness, Clark remained committed to his duties at the Juniata County facilities. Less than three weeks ago, Clark was on hand to accept a 1.3M federal grant to help improve fairground infrastructure.

His support and passion was critical in ensuring the Port Royal Speedway and the Juniata County Fair remained an updated, safe and enjoyable experience for many years to come.

He was responsible for creating an all-volunteer Board of Directors and appointed current track promoter Steve O’Neal in charge of racing activities along with the Port Royal Speedway Promotions team.

He could be found weekly roaming the Speedway grounds and always greeted each person he met with a smile and a handshake. Clark delivered the invocation during opening ceremonies prior to each event at the track each night.

He was a very devoted, respected, and trusted man of his church and community.

He was also nominated as the ‘Fair Person of the Year’ in 2016 for all of his accomplishments and dedication to making improvements.

Son of Gerald and Daisy, Clark was married to his beloved wife Brenda and together they had three children, Brian, Mike and Curt.
