Logan Wagner Wins 3rd Straight, Sweigart Wins 2nd RaceSaver Challenge, Yoder Wins Wingless Sportsman

Port Royal, PA - Logan Wagner charged from the outside of row 3 to the front to claim his 3rd straight Weikert's Livestock 410 sprint car win and his 4th win this season.

Gerard McIntyre and Blane Heimbach would make up the front row of the A-main event, and it would be Heimbach who would lead the opening circuit of the race.

McIntyre would overtake the driver out of Selinsgrove on the 2nd lap though and would momentarily pull away over the next 10 laps but would have plenty of battles going on behind him.

Logan Wagner would work his way up through the top 5 over the next 10 laps and would put a slider on McIntyre going into turn 1 with 14 laps remaining to take over the lead.

Wagner once in front would take on some wing damage to right-hand side of the top wing, bending it back just a touch, but it wouldn't affect The Pilot from getting back to victory lane.

"It didn't help me," said Wagner in victory lane. "I thought we were a little bit too loose especially on exit and didn't really know what happened and it makes sense now. It's just a testament to the Krietz crew to how good the car is."

A restart with 3 laps to go following a caution for Austin Bishop would give McIntyre one last shot at the lead. He would try to make a move on the bottom side of the speedway in turns 1 and 2 but left enough room for the 5 time track champion to get back by on the top side and hold on for the win.

Gerard McIntyre would finish in the 2nd spot and Blane Heimbach would round out the podium.

Aaron Ott would win the Valley Supply Hard Charger award worth $500 for going +7 on the night after starting in 20th and finishing in 13th.

Jake Waters would take home the $1000 courtesy of J&S Classics for the Warrior Award after the 19 pill was drawn by Wagner in victory lane.

In Penns Valley Meat Market RaceSaver Sprint car competition, Nick Sweigart would start on the front row of the 25-lap A-main and would lead all 25 circuits for the $950 win in the Keystone RaceSaver Challenge and would tally his 2nd win of this event in his career.

Sweigart would cut through lapped traffic throughout the event with Mifflintown driver Owen Dimm within a second margin of him throughout the event, but Dimm would never get close enough to make a move for the win.

"Starting position made everything there," said Sweigart in victory lane. "If we would've started deeper, I don't think that would've happened. Most importantly, I don't know that I'm doing this next year so this means that much more to me."

Owen Dimm and Logan Spahr would round out the top 3 in the A-main, and Zach Rhoades would win the Penns Valley Meat Market hard charger award for going from 21st to 13th.

The wingless sportsman A-main was dominated by Trent Yoder after he took the lead with 14 laps remaining.

Brett Perigo and Trent Yoder made up the front row of the feature event and Perigo led the opening 6 laps.

Yoder, though, had a big charge down the front stretch heading into turn 1 and would pull off a big slider to put himself in front of Perigo.

Perigo would try to battle back in turns 3 and 4 with the top 2 cars making contact between the nose and tail of the two cars, but both were able to stay straight.

Yoder would open up his lead to over 4 seconds and go on to win the A-main event with Curt Stroup getting into the runner up spot and Brett Perigo finishing in 3rd.

Port Royal Speedway will take the next weekend off and will be back in action on August 3rd which will feature Weikert Livestock 410 sprint cars, Selinsgrove Ford super late models, and Zimmerman Truck Repair limited late models with the limited late models competing for a purse over $17,000 as a part of the 2nd Annual Ron Zimmerman Tribute Race.
